From a laser pioneer: over 20 years and 10,000+ systems worldwide

Zimmer MedizinSysteme brought its first high-power therapy laser to market in the 1990s and has refined the technology ever since with researchers and clinicians, raising the bar on output, wavelength, safety and ease of use. Today hospitals, physiotherapists and physicians around the world treat with Opton lasers every day.

High-intensity laser therapy delivers large amounts of light energy into tissue to stimulate lasting healing. With systems up to 25 W, the OptonPro brings that power into a compact unit.

About high-intensity laser therapy

How it works

Laser therapy is a well-established method in physical therapy. High-energy light is introduced into the tissue in large quantities, stimulating healing in a sustained way.

Wavelength

Using three wavelengths reaches different targets at once: pain receptors near the surface and deeper tissue structures. 1064 nm scatters least in tissue, so it carries energy into the deepest layers.

Power

More power means higher power density and a stronger thermal effect in deeper layers. It also lets you work further from the skin over a wider area, which can save a lot of treatment time.

Laser class

Every OptonPro model is a Class 4 laser. Special regulations for Class 4 lasers apply to its use.

A modern user interface

Zimmer OptonPro therapy assistant

Therapy assistant

Recommends the energy dose based on the treatment area, the pain condition and the patient's skin type, and saves recommended parameters automatically. It's intuitive, patient-specific and makes treatment safer for the user.

Frequently asked questions

Which wavelengths does the OptonPro use?

All models use 810 nm and 980 nm. The 15 W and 25 W models add 1064 nm for deeper penetration.

What is the difference between the 10 W, 15 W and 25 W models?

Maximum output and wavelengths. The 10 W model has two wavelengths; the 15 W and 25 W models have three. Higher output lets you treat larger areas from a greater distance.

How does the OptonPro protect the patient's skin?

A temperature sensor in the applicator monitors skin temperature during treatment, and two spacers keep the applicator at a defined distance from the skin.

Does it help me choose treatment settings?

Yes. The therapy assistant recommends the energy dose based on the treatment area, pain condition and skin type, and saves recommended parameters automatically.

What laser class is it?

All OptonPro models are Class 4 lasers, so special regulations for their use apply.

Will it run on Canadian power?

Yes. It operates on 100–240 V at 50 or 60 Hz.

How big and heavy is the unit?

It measures 30 × 35 × 20 cm (H × W × L) and weighs 3.8 kg.
